Rider Spotlight: Bob and Robbie

Father and Son, Bob and Robbie, followed their dreams, and each purchased Harley-Davidson’s for themselves. The son, Robbie, purchased a Road King and Bob got a Tri Glide Ultra.

Robbie has been riding motorcycles for about four years. He previously owned a ‘97 Ultra Glide Classic and now has upgraded to his Teal Road King! Robbie’s first experience on a motorcycle wasn’t a Harley-Davidson. He started on Rat bikes and also owned a 1981 Kawasaki 750 LTD.

Bob’s purchase of his new Harley-Davidson meant that he could spend more time with his son.  Bob got into riding motorcycles because his son was always riding. Bob and Robbie always spent time together since he was a baby because Robbie would ride over the road in Bob's semi-truck. Bob even taught him how to drive semi. With spending lots of time on the road over the years, Bob is excited he gets to now spend leisure time together on their new bikes.

Bob has only been riding for a year. He always dreamed about getting a Tri-Glide with his wife. In the past year, Bob’s wife had passed away. Bob felt that now was the right time to get a motorcycle, and live every day like it could be the last. He wants to include a picture of his wife as remembrance on his bike. He feels by doing so that she will always be his guardian angel with him on the road. His wife is a big inspiration for him starting his riding journey along with his son Robbie.

Robbie and Bob knew that choosing to buy Harley-Davidsons was the right decision. They both agreed that H-D’s hold their value, look tough, and are legendary. They like the freedom they feel, the wind blowing, speed, power, and living on the edge. They both agree that the wild side makes you feel more alive.

Robbie's Road King

Bob and Robbie admit that their lives are more exciting now than before purchasing their new bikes. Bob said before he got into riding, he would stand in his driveway and watch everybody ride pass. Bob thought he could ride, so he went out and got his bike. Now riding is one of Bob's favorite activities. He feels immersed on the road and gets to spend more quality time with his son. Robbie enjoys the freedom and the serenity of it. He likes to hop on the bike and listen to the pipes. For them, riding is a good escape.

In the future, Bob and Robbie hope to take some long-distance rides. They plan to go out to Sturgis next year and hopefully out to Arizona, Montana, and Mount Rushmore. For now, Robbie just gets on the road any chance he gets.

Bob and Robbie appreciate the staff at Open Road Harley-Davidson. They love that everyone is so friendly and how the dealership has a family feeling.
